Ogden Valley
Emergency Preparedness

CERT/RDA
CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) and RDA (Rapid Disaster Assessment) are two programs made up of volunteers that assist first responders after a disaster. CERT Participants receive training through a four week course provided by Weber County twice a year. RDA provides a post disaster assessment guideline that does not require advance assignments or extensive training. Both are great programs and one may work better for one area while another may not.
CERT
The CERT program offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations, allowing them to focus on more complex tasks.
Currently in our valley only Huntsville town has a CERT manager that is known of. Other areas may have CERT managers but it is not known who they are.
RDA
Rapid Disaster Assessment is a program that is being used by stakes, wards, cities and organizations to determine the extent of damage and injuries after a disaster.
